Hi I'm Nirali!

I'm a mixed media artist and I’ve been practicing as an artist since 2016. My style is unique, and using my heritage to draw inspiration from, I enjoy using bold colour and detailed lines to create abstract works of art.

I hope you enjoy browsing my portfolio!

Commissions

I absolutely love working with private clients and companies, learning about their stories and inspirations to channel their dreams into pieces of art.

Breaking Traditions

Certain commissions can challenge me, forcing me to inwardly reflect. These are the ones that help me grow as an artist the most.

Being asked to paint the Hindu God Lakshmi led me to explore my roots and I began learning about religion, its significance in everyday life and representation through statues and paintings.

I wanted the art to reflect this whilst also remaining unique with my modern art style. By mixing bold colours and broad brushstrokes, with the details of Lakshmi's jewels and gold headpiece, I was able to create a piece of art that portrayed the essence of tradition with a twist.

Painting Memories

Above all, I love capturing memories. When asked to paint a client's late 104 year old grandfather as a gift to the family, I treated this as a complete honour.

Wanting to make sure my subject was the sole focus of the art, I chose an image that showed him in dark clothing, with a warm and inviting expression of joy. I also contrasted this with a bright background of orange and electric blue rays of light, giving the effect of him being illuminated from behind, propelling him the canvas slightly.

I really wanted to focus on the details of this portrait and I spent hours shading and colour blending so that the portrait was soft yet still had my signature style.

Collections

Inspired by our every day world, I’m influenced by balance, always looking at both sides of the coin, and my collections portray alternative sides to controversial narratives, allowing the viewer to become captivated in the story behind the art.

Peace keeper

Peace Giver represents my eternal search for living in the state of zen. Using both dark and light shades of green, the colours and strokes work harmoniously as a representation of how our daily lives should be led, in a state of zen, whilst balanced perfectly with the chaos around us.

The One and Only

Many tales have been told about the Hindu God Krishna. A mighty warrior, this God is known for protection, compassion, tenderness, and love. This piece of art uses soft, inviting hues to depict Krishna in his childhood form as cheeky, playful and full of warmth.
